Cory - that's great that you got to climb with Dave H, and you're right, when he talks everyone listens. Sounds like you had some tough conditions with the heat. I know I lost a lot of water/sweat and it wasn't hot for us. It's great that you're heading back to try again. Good luck! Thanks for checking out my blog.

Good job Dave, I climbed with Dave Hhan on 8/3 and 8/4. I was on his team as well and its like the old EF Hutton commercial > when he talks People listen. It was hot when we climbed and had to deal with dehydration on the summit day and i had to turn around ( not only for my safety but as not to spoil it for everyone else. I am climbing again this year and will not make the same mistake twice. Great Pics

Well done Dave. It is a wonderful and unique adventure that I wish everyone could experience. Of course then it wouldn't be as unique. Congratulations on reaching the summit and returning home safely.

Growing up in Seattle I was never very "outdoorsy" (me, a gym rat, who'da thought?!) because I always associated it with be freezing cold & wet (childhood bad experiences). It wasn't until living in Arizona that I started to appreciate getting outdoors, whether it be hiking or snowboarding. Not sure I see mountaineering in my future, but baby steps. I do feel pretty lucky to have lived both places.. such different, but amazing, beauty to both. So glad it was such a wonderful experience!
